There are some complications in their attempt to leave the pub, and get Alex safely back to the carriage. Alex is understandably weak, she’s in pain due to her broken rib and battered feet, but Farokh has given her some morphine he acquired on his meander around town.

Reading your stories takes me away from the daily drudgery like a vacation to an exotic land. thanks
Hi Lee, it does that for me too, when I write, I’m glad it translates for you. 🙂 Thank you.
Hi Cheryl. Heyem just goes from strength to strength – what a great character she is. And this situation is so rich – riding the edge of comedy and despair. The drawings are utterly brilliant too – love Alex’s expression in the first.
Hi Richard, thank you, yes comedy and despair, I love that, humour is so important in a story like this (and Alexand has a dark sense of humour, it’s one of the reasons she and Heyem clash sometimes..) Heyem’s great isn’t she (although I’m not sure I’d want to spend too much time with her)
