Unbound Boxes Limping Gods: Disconnected Stories: Issue # 271: Motherland Part 6

The factory is close, but Alex has been shivering for hours and her body is letting her down. The group has stopped to rest, overlooking the Amanojuko factory, which is just across the horizon. (This issue, and every story I’ve written, is dedicated to my dad, who died almost 21 years ago on 2nd December. This is for you Dad, I will never forget you.)

  1. Hi Cheryl, this is so tense – like the irony of Alex seeming to feel there is nothing to lose, while she has everything to lose. It seems like a mad mission…great drawing – it reminds me of novel illustrations from when I was little, but totally of the moment.

    1. Hi Richard, yes, it’s a very desperate mission. I’d be one of the many casualties by now if I’d gone with them! (Thankfully I’m the writer and am blissfully immune) I admire Alex, she has a lot of strength, but at this point she really needs a lot of encouragement to keep fighting, like we all have done through various stages of our lives, for different reasons. Hopefully most of us won’t have to fight an autocratic demi-god, intent on destroying the human race, however in these times, you never know…

Keep it alive...
