  1. Fantastic! Another angle on Katherine and Alex. This is such a morally complex and weird scene – it’s got a wonderful wooziness to it and I love the way several story lines seem to be crashing into each other. Great drawings as always – number two is my favourite though – love the depth of feeling in it.

    1. Hi Richard, thank you, I’m glad you noticed the reference to the parallel storyline (a story called Butterflies, which featured a few issues ago) This is my first experiment with merging story lines, and this story (and butterflies) was originally in the first manuscript but had to be edited out for various reasons. (Part of the magic of being able to share them here.) Inajda wasn’t happy with me for editing out this part of her back story, but she’s forgiven me now! There’s so many stories, so many characters…

  2. I feel Rekaya’s pain so vividly, Cheryl, in this and the last episode. A mother’s silent cry. And Katherine De Somme’s compassion is written all over her beautiful face.

    1. Hi Vera, thank you, yes Inajda had a lot of criticism from strangers when she was younger and I wanted to explain the reasons for her having to join the army. I have a lot of respect for her (and yes Katherine is just so lovely) both women can be misunderstood by people who don’t know them as well as we do.

  3. I’m a huge fan of your drawings…just amazes me how you manage to put in so much detail into every sketch! another riveting story! 🙂

Keep it alive...
