Eldenath uses chores as cover for time with her own memories. Something she would get in trouble for if anyone else in the House of Plenitude and Mirth, could read her mind. (Apart from her friend Samuel Merevija, who is also an inmate) (CLICK HERE for next chronological story)

Do you suppose they still listen to CCR in 4039, darling? Because I had “Born on the Bayou” stuck in my head before I ever reached the bottom and learned it was set in Louisiana. Very well done.
Music’s banned in The House of Plenitude, but Alexand would know that song, (as she’s obsessed with music) Glad you enjoyed Eldenath’s story. She’s one of my most precious characters too and also under used in these short stories (unlike in the books, where she’s a main character.) Thanks Helena!
Enjoying this story. Looking forward to seeing what Eldenath does next.
Thanks Chrinda, glad you’re enjoying Eldenath’s stories.
I really like the picture in this post – very nostalgic and thoughtful
Thank you 🙂
Depth and symmetry toward the House of Plenitude. Captivating!
Thanks, Russell! 😀
Eldenath is 14 now. I cannot wait to read more about her when she is abducted by Alexand and told her father is not the monk she had thought he was. She seems to grow up to look as beautiful as Giselle. And possibly as talented. Also, Samuel! Boy, isn’t he gorgeous!
Hi Vera, I’m glad, in fact I may write another story about Giselle (You’ve inspired me to do so) and the story about Alexand abducting Eldenath and Sam, I’ve saved for the book, (along with other things I can’t mention here) so I’m really happy this interests you. (and yes, Sam is a handsome man!) 🙂 Sam’s story is next week, and I can’t wait to share that with you.
That’s dreadful when one has to use chores as cover time to reflect on one’s own thoughts. But it could be worse, I suppose.
Hi Eric, yes Eldenath’s a very practical and adaptable girl, but misses her mother a lot. I wouldn’t want to be trapped in the House of Plenitude, either, *shivers*
Eldenath seems to be doing what every writer does – living in her head to escape the reality that surrounds her. A beautiful character.
It’s a sanctuary for a lot of us 🙂 Thanks Lee, she’s one of my most precious characters and I’m very fond of her.
Hey i just wanted to say i read all your characters and didn’t figure out over their to tell you! Hoping your having a far out week -Bradley
Hi Bradley, thanks, glad you enjoyed reading! All the best, Cheryl
Hi Cheryl! Eldenath’s great. This is such a nice, touching scene. And I love the way you describe the bigger picture with such small gestures.
Hi, Richard, yes, Eldenath’s a hidden treasure for me and there are so many things I’d like to tell you about her but can’t! I’m glad I’m able to share parts of her story here with you and that you enjoyed reading.
Such a fine illustration.
Thanks, Elena!
So lovely to relax in the morning here and read this slice of Eldenath’s journey. You make the scene so easy to picture.
Glad you enjoyed her story, thank you! 😀
Your work is amazing! Thanks for stopping by my blog.
Good to meet you, I love the idea you have to read a book from every country in the world! Thank you, glad you enjoyed stopping here and good luck with your journey. You’re welcome here any time!
Hi, thanks for the follow! Did you draw all these pictures? They’re wonderful – I can’t take my eyes off them. Looking forward to more of your posts. 🙂
Hi Soul, you’re welcome and good to meet you. Thank you, I’m glad you’re enjoying the stories (yes they’re my illustrations) and good luck with your writing. Best wishes, Cheryl
Dear cheryl, I am always in awe when I see your sketches, you are so talented. This one really caught my eye as it is exactly what I had in mind for a raised walkway in my mythology called the Imperial Highway that links up the towns and cities of various islands in my fantasy world, high above dangerous terrain where certain monsters and other hazards lurk. This was a stark visual that refreshed my imagination and made me smile. Thank you so much, Cheryl. Best wishes from Baldy 🙂
I’m glad Kieran, good luck with your work, I know how much it means to have the world inside your head grow more prolific and images can set things off. Imperial Highway sounds fascinating. I’m seeing semi arboreal superstructures, mixed with urban buildings. I love the Japanese style architecture which blends art and buildings together. Best wishes to you also. Cheryl 😀
Your posts are so blissful! The perfect combo of words and sketches. You create unique. 🙂
Thank you, Tanumoy, that means a lot to me 🙂
Pleasure’s all mine, Cheryl. It’s a treat to be around here. 🙂
I am loving this character. I look forward to more!
Hi Charlene, glad you like Eldenath, she’s very precious to me and she will definitely feature more in the future. She’s also in an episode called The Witch Woman, and you’re welcome to read it if you’d like. http://wp.me/pXe9M-EK All the best, Cheryl.
I will definitely check it out – thanks!
😀
Yes, I remember reading this before, but I read it again and enjoyed just the same, thanks again! 🙂
Glad you enjoyed reading! Thanks, Charlene 😀
I am reading your stories all out of order!! I’ve got to straighten myself out.
As usual, I am totally captivated by your illustrations. Their faces and expressions make your stories so REAL!
Hi, Mary, thank you, I’m glad you’re enjoying reading.
