Ajeeta Kothari has spent weeks wracked with guilt about what she saw in the Amanojuko headquarters. She is having second thoughts about wanting immortality for her son and husband, and materialises a force field around herself and Katherine so that Lord Filius Anderson does not overhear her.

I’m curious about the era for your ongoing story. I see several references to years in the 3900s and 4000s — is this the Gregorian calendar (making the story close to two millennia in our future), or are these years in another calendar?
Hi Keigh, yes you’re right it’s 2000 years in our future.
Interesting. Was there any particular reason you chose to write in the distant future?
It was a long time ago now, but I didn’t consciously choose. It was more organic. I was sitting on a park bench and Alexand Merek spoke to me and told me a few things about her life. I just knew that she didn’t live in our time. I got to know her a little better and discovered that she lived in the future. Everything else has grown around it, the more I learn about their world.
That’s very interesting. I like “listening” to my characters as well, it can be an enlightening exercise.
Hi Cheryl. Lovely twist. Poor Katherine…
Hi Richard, thank you, yes Katherine’s having a rough time at the moment. She really could do with a large dose of Alex….
