Unbound Boxes Limping Gods: Disconnected Stories. Issue # 131: Amanojuko Part 15

Inajda and Alex paid the six coins to the guards at the city gates. The city is being made from stone and wood, and appears to be a deliberately medieval throwback. (CLICK HERE for the first story in this series) (CLICK HERE for next chronological story)

  1. Hi Cheryl! Ah, now the series title makes sense…this is shaping up to be so exciting. The world, though, is like a frightening projection of where we’re headed now (again). I so love your drawings and the way they both illustrate and undercut the narrative.

    1. Thanks Richard, that’s a weird coincidence I was just commenting on your blog! I had a lot of catching up to do. And this world, yes, there are Amanojuko lords here too… *twitches*

    1. Only on my hard drive, although the Story timeline section gives you a chronological read of the series which has been published on wp so far.

  2. This sense of inhuman and unquestioning entitlement exists also in our time, our countries and cities, maybe not to this extent and more subtle but without doubt it exists. We all know it and most of us have experienced it…you have obviously. Your writing and illustrations continue to enchant…thanks for the adventure Cheryl…

    1. I also think justification plays a huge part in enabling that way of thought to continue in an individual or group. After all, no one (apart from maybe a psychopath) thinks they’re a bad person, and in this world, this includes most of the wanabe Amanojuko lords and ladies. Glad you’re enjoying this, John. Thank you.

  3. I consider this your best artwork — great costuming. You still frustrate me and I suspect you will until you start binding the boxes. Feminists have many different views and many times they sound polar opposite to one another. A page about your thoughts in creating the series would be useful.
