Unbound Boxes Limping Gods: Disconnected Stories. Issue # 107: Post Asylum Blues Part 4

Juba sat in front of a huge meal prepared by a very concerned Alexand. She gave him clean clothes, a bath and healed the wounds on his feet with a strange contraption she called a writer. He has told Alex of his wife and Son’s death. It’s mid afternoon, Abouna Panak’s gone and Alex has given Juba some wine to comfort him. She sits nursing contractions, attempting to figure out how to help her old friend. CLICK HERE for next chronological story.

  1. Hi Cheryl! Katherine, no! What a shame – will we get to see more of her? I love the way you say so much with so few words – so much implied in Alex’s words. This is such a warm, tender issue – the pictures are a perfect match.

    1. Hi Richard, ah, Katherine, yes there’s a really long story coming up which features Alex and Katherine, called “You’re In The Army Now,” (I mean reaaaaaaly long) which should compensate for this revelation. It’s based about nine years before this issue is set. I can’t get enough of Alex and Katherine either. Thank you!

    1. Thanks Helena, yes I enjoyed writing this, glad you liked it. (Oh and the goings on in Mill Hollow…. *shivers*) People should really stop by and read your stories, you are a very talented teller…..and should be published right now!)

  2. Cheryl-
First, I have to tell you your drawings are incredible! They speak volumes without any written words and how envious I am that you have the gift of writing AND illustration. I especially love the little girl peering from behind the half-closed door.
I’m looking forward to spending time with your stories. There’s so much on WordPress to read, and I still have so much to learn. I wish I didn’t need sleep so I could spend more time here!
I don’t know how you stumbled across my my blog, but I appreciate your follow and I’ll be adding myself to your list.
    Keep up the great work!
    Dennie
